Due to the slower dowloads of late (I'm pulling 25% of my usual speeds)I decided to check the new users per month stats and was surprised to see that it hasn't spiked or anything. I another reason for the slowdown?? Sorry if this has already been covered, and if so please bruskly point me to the relevant forum post. Thanks for all your hardwork (except for that guy in the corner who's sleeping on his keyboard). Cheers.

Depends what server you're pulling from as well. Some servers (the new ones) are doing heavy work with uploads and therefore can be slower. Some older ones have very popular shows, and therefore, can also be bogged down. If it's all servers, well then, I don't know :)

cheers

It has been slower. I'm on the east coast. Best time for me to download is saturdays and sundays between 6am and 9am. I can usual get download speeds of 275 to about 340 kps.

Other times its hit or miss. On the weekdays its been anywhere from 60 to 90. Sometimes I get low 100s. A month or 2 ago it was mid 100s on average.

Downloading doesn't require a user account, so this is likely unrelated.

Maybe it was the server. I was downloading from audio22.archive.org when it was slow now I'm on audio19.archive.org and back to 46.0 kbs.

Thanks for the explanation.
(everyone else in the world kindly stay off server 19 for the next few hours. Thanks!)
